Firing order for 8n ford tractor

Mar 3, 2010 · Reason Im asking, the order my distributor is wired, it seems #3 is getting fire before my #4. I know the firing order is 1-2-4-3. If this holds true, will my tractor run if #3 and #4 are reversed? Sorry for the confusion. I am getting ready to set time and I could not get a good visual of the timing marks. Andy

I think Mercedes made one that did not. As far as dwell I put electronic chip in the distributor on the G-262 power unit on my C-II Gleaner and do not have to worry about dwell or points. My tr5actor has been running like crap lately, and after checking everything else, I pulled the dist cap, at which time the rotor fell out in three different peices. It was barley running before this happened. With the ignition on and the points closed, use a screwdriver to open the points. You should see a good spark.
