Canik mete sft vs sfx

Looking to get a gun for carrying while hiking and fishing, using at the range, and home defense. I am wondering if the 5.74 inch of the sfx pro might be a little too long to be carrying around. Also wondering if the reliability of the rival might be better because of the non exposed barrel at the front?

The ergonomics of the frame are noticeably better in the Mete than the TP9 series. I've had both the Elite and the SF and IMO the SF is worth the added cost. If a red dot is ever something you'll want to add (like even a tiny bit) get the Mete.

Tp9 sfx with bigger optic is way faster in my hands but that may be because I ran tp9sfx for much longer compared to mete. I'm sure with enough training I could reach same level of proficiency.
